The Library is open 24 hours a day, every day, from Monday 18 March until the end of the formal assessment period on Friday 17 May.

The Library will be closed on the following dates during summer:

You may want to use our out-of-hours support service when our enquiries desk is closed.
Extended hours for exam resits
From Monday 22 July to Monday 5 August 2024, the Library will be open for longer to support students who are re-taking exams or assessments. During this time our opening hours are:

Archives & Special Collections Reading Room
The Archives & Special Collections Reading Room is open by appointment only. Email archives@strath.ac.uk to make an appointment.
Closing bells
If you are studying towards the end of the day, you may hear our closing bells. We ring the closing bells:
- twice approximately 30 minutes before closing
- twice approximately 20 minutes before closing
- three times ten minutes before closing
If the Library is very busy, we may ring the bells again before closing. Please make sure you begin to pack up your things and make your way out of the Library at least ten minutes before we are due to close. This helps our staff make sure the building is securely closed on time.
