The course is taught by Martin Montgomery, Beth Edginton and Alan Girvin.
Martin Montgomery has lectured throughout the world and has published in the fields of British Cultural Studies, stylistics, socio-linguistics and discourse analysis. For a number of years he directed the British Council's British Studies Summer School and he is currently a member of the British Council's Advisory Board on British Studies.
Beth Edginton taught at Nicholas Copernicus University, Poland, and Masaryk University in the Czech Republic before coming to Strathclyde, and has trained teachers in Bulgaria, Germany and Venezuela; her research interests are in British Cultural Studies, the cross-cultural construction of national identity, and theories of nation-ness.
Alan Girvin taught at the Universities of Southampton and Manchester before coming to Strathclyde; his research interests are in language and cultural theory, the literature and culture of independent Ireland, and Modernism and the avant-garde.
