Hi, I have stayed in halls of residence for three years and my year in Birkbeck Court has been a highlight.
Where Birkbeck excels is its sense of community. Being the largest hall on the John Anderson Campus, there's a greater opportunity to meet people and socialise. Living in close quarters with people of very different backgrounds is a fabulous experience and you are also certain to meet like-minded individuals. Being in the city centre, there is no shortage of bars, clubs, restaurants and entertainment, not forgetting the Todd Bar.
The flats in Birkbeck are very close to most lecture halls. This offers a number of benefits. If you are running late, you are no more than 5 minutes from any class and the University library is literally on your doorstep.
It's true that the flats in Birkbeck are basic, but they are more than enough for life as a student and teach you how to deal with the practical side of life away from home.
If you're looking for a residence that offers a great introduction to student life, in a sociable and close community, Birkbeck Court is the choice for you.
