The Department has a large range of computing facilities making it possible for undergraduate and postgraduate students to take full advantage of the latest technology for text and picture processing, 3D- modelling, and computer aided design and multi-media presentations.
Equipment changes frequently, reflecting the latest developments in computing technology. Both PCs and Apples are supported on the Strathclyde area network. Students also have direct access to e-mail and the Internet and World Wide Web.
The computing and printing facilities in Architecture consist of computing laboratories on the ground and basement floors of the Architecture building, and a PC Lab in Colville. These are mostly accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, except for regular essential maintenance. Students may use any other centrally managed computing lab located elsewhere in the University.
