Data protection

main content

Archives and Special Collections must, at all times, act in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, which governs the processing of information about living individuals. While most of our collections may be openly consulted, certain categories of archives which contain, or are likely to contain, information about identifiable living individuals, such as staff and student records, may be restricted to comply with the Act. In particular, student records are closed for consultation for 75 years after graduation. You may, however, request an academic transcript of your own student record.
