The Autism Spectrum: A Celebration of 10 years of Multi-professional Learning and Teaching

7th June 2008 Jordanhill Campus

Announcing The Postgraduate Certificate, Diploma & Masters in ASD annual Course Conference

This year our conference is of particular importance as it is 10 years since the course came into being.

In this period we have seen a great many developments in our understanding of ASD. There have also been over 500 people in a wide range of professions as well as family members and individuals on the spectrum who have accessed the course.

We feel that alone is well worth marking however we really want to celebrate the excellent practice that students and graduates of the course offer to individuals on the spectrum and their families.

For this reason this year we are having an entirely in house event. This year the conference programme will be delivered by current and former students as well as teaching staff from our multi-professional teaching team.

How can you get involved?

Call for workshop presentations:

We are inviting all current and former students and members of the teaching team to submit a proposal for a workshop presentation. 2 slots will be available with 6 workshops in each. We are especially keen for workshops to focus on practice developments, themes are wide open and could include:

  • Play
  • Inclusive practice
  • Supporting parents & families
  • Transitions
  • Personal accounts
  • Therapeutic approaches
  • The arts, music etc

This is not an exhaustive list and we are open to hearing your ideas. The workshops are a forum for sharing and exploring aspects of our work.

Workshops will be an hour long. If you are interested in delivering a workshop please complete the proposal form and return to margaret.ritchie@strath.ac.uk

Please return by 31st March 2008.

If you would like to discuss suggestions and or ideas for a workshop please contact charlene.tait@strath.ac.uk
