The Applied Music degree was designed to fulfil the needs of the modern music industry. While it comprehensively covers the traditional scope of performance-based, educational and academic music degree courses, we incorporate a range of additional elements to encourage students to become involved in music in all its facets, including all aspects of technology, community music, education and musicology.
We actively support and encourage all styles and genres of music - jazz, traditional/folk, rock, pop and classical. We include as part of our degree, the most comprehensive undergraduate study of jazz in the country.
On graduation, students will have developed an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the modern music industry, with considerable practical and field experience.
Please note applications are now closed for October 2008 entry. Forms for 2009 entry will be available via UCAS from September 2008.
