Christine Reid joined USGSB in August 1993 with an initial remit to plan, set up and develop an information service for the School's staff and clients. She moved to this role from the University of Strathclyde Library Service, where she was latterly Business Information Librarian and Business Faculty Librarian.
Christine is an award-winning member of staff. In December 2000 she was named European Business Librarian of the Year, an annual award sponsored by the Gale Group. To win the award, Christine's work in developing innovative support for teaching programmes in information management, and the project management, design and implementation of a new intranet/extranet for the school's students world wide, was taken into account. In December 1998 Christine was awarded a Library Association Royal Charter Centenary Medal - one of only 100 in the UK - awarded in recognition of her professional expertise and personal enthusiasm.
Christine was elected as Fellow of the Institute of Information Scientists in September 1997. From 1996 to 1999 she was President of the European Business School Librarians Group which is a co-operative working group of librarians from the top business schools across Europe. She has been an active member of the information profession in Scotland serving an elected member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals in Scotland.
Christine has a direct involvement with the Exploring the Business Environment module and Project Methodology module of the MBA programme and gives indirect contributions to other parts of the programme.
