What is the MSc Supply Chain & Logistics Management?
The MSc Supply Chain & Logistics Management is a 180 credit (European standard) masters' degree programme. In the UK, the programme is a one year full-time programme which has been running for a number of years in Glasgow through the Strathclyde Institute of Operations Management (SIOM). For additional details on SIOM, visit the website: www.strath.ac.uk/siom.
In the UAE the masters is not an 'on-line' or a 'distance learning' programme; it is a 2 year part-time, face-to-face taught programme with a combination of intensive seminars and tutorial classes for each module, all of which are scheduled over weekends and evenings.
With the exception of the mode of study, the part-time programme offered in the UAE is in all respects, identical to that offered on a full-time basis in Scotland; the credit structure and subjects, entry criteria, course assessment, books and teaching materials are the same, and the programme is taught by the same Strathclyde academics who teach in Glasgow.
The programme is accredited by the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, and is fully endorsed by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and SAP. The teaching team includes a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
