The Knowledge Transfer Partnerships scheme is Europe’s leading programme helping businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills. The main sponsor of the KTP scheme is the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) which is the UK’s national innovation agency. Each KTP project is sponsored by the participating business with the TSB often acting as co-sponsor with other public sector agencies.
The University has a major commitment to KTPs and hosts the West of Scotland KTP Centre, the largest Centre in Scotland and recognised as one of the premier Centres in the UK. In the past 13 years the Centre has helped establish over 250 projects and generated more than £30m of KTP grants in the West of Scotland.
KTPs aim to meet a core strategic need of your organisation and identify innovative solutions to help your business grow. KTPs often deliver significant increased profitability for businesses as a direct result of the partnership through improved quality and operations, increased sales and access to new markets. Social enterprises see improved results too.
