Strathclyde welcomes students from more than 100 countries around the world and almost 10% of those studying with us have come from overseas. We offer a range of special support services to help international students settle into life at our university and enjoy their time in Scotland.
Where to start
The helpful Information and Advice Team are on hand to answer your questions and give you practical support on your course, visa, accommodation, finances or any other issue you may have questions about. There is also an International Student Guide to help answer your questions when you arrive.
Improve your English
If you are an international student in a full-time degree programme and would like to work on your English language skills, you can benefit from free class tuition of up to four hours a week for as long as you are at Strathclyde.
If you are from outside the UK and need some financial advice, we can help: Financing Your Education
Need someone to talk to?
When you are far away from home, talking to someone can really help. There are a range of counselling services services on offer. Or why not contact our Chaplaincy Centre to find out about all the different faith groups in Glasgow?
International Development Work
Strathclyde students have the chance to engage in international development work through Vertically Integrated Projects, fieldwork or voluntary placements. See further information on international development work.
