The University of Strathclyde has some of the best student libraries in Scotland - and that means they're among the best in the UK. There's a library on each campus and when you join us as a student, you will automatically be a member of both.

The Andersonian Library

Our main library in the Curran Building on the John Anderson campus has around 750,000 volumes and over 8,000 current journal subscriptions, the vast majority of which are available electronically. It covers all subjects taught at Strathclyde, focussing on science, engineering, business, law and social sciences. It offers 200 networked computers with access to the internet, email, a wide range of software and databases and a wireless area for laptops. The Andersonian Library is also responsible for the University's historical archives, including special collections of rare books.

The Jordanhill Library

Located on Faculty of Education campus, the Jordanhill Library in the Sir Henry Wood Building is the longest-established library in Scotland for resources in education, community and social work, speech and language therapy, music, sport and journalism.

Using the libraries

We'll give you an induction on using the library when you begin your student life. Your student ID card acts as your library card.
