The Centre for Digital Library Research (CDLR) at the University of Strathclyde was set up as a joint initiative by the Information Resources Directorate and the Department of Computer and Information Sciences to work across both departments and other areas of the University. Key aims were to "combine theory with practice in innovative ways" and be a centre of research excellence in the area of distributed digital information and learning environments.
The CDLR was disbanded in October 2010. A new section within the University’s Information Services Directorate – Development & Innovation – will take forward some of CDLR’s previous areas of work.
