The department has three internationally active research groups. These are: Software Engineering, AI Planning and i-lab (information laboratory). Each group is led by an internationally recognised researcher with a world-class profile in the field. Over the past five years, the Department has secured approximately £2M worth of external support from EPSRC, DTI, EU and UK government agencies and private companies. The department collaborates actively with other departments in the university as well as research institutes, university departments and companies worldwide.
