Welcome to the new resource for Scottish Schools. Over the next few months we will begin to build a collection of useful and interesting links on computing for pupils, parents and teachers.
Please drop us an email message to register your interest and to guide us on the type of material you would like to see here. We have started the ball rolling by including some material from recent Christmas Lectures.
Christmas Lecture in Computer Science for Schools
Wednesday 5th and 12th December 2012 at 2pm
Update: The lecture on the 12th December 2012 is now full
Once again, on behalf of the Computer and Information Sciences Department, I would like to invite pupils from secondary 4 upwards to the annual Christmas Lecture. This event has proven extremely popular in previous years and we hope it helps kindle interest and generate enthusiasm in this fast evolving discipline.
My colleague Mr Duncan Smeed will give this year’s presentation entitled: -
“Pioneers of the Open Hardware & Software Frontier”
To ensure adequate seating, attendance at the lecture is by invitation only. Please email Kirsty McLaren (Kirsty.mclaren@strath.ac.uk) to indicate how many places you wish to reserve.
No tickets will be posted out for this year’s lecture. Confirmation of the number of seats allocated to you will be sent by email. Please bring this confirmation along with you to the lecture.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Professor Ian Ruthven
