Department offers Excellence Awards
for MRes and MSc degrees

Fees-only Awards to UK/EU students for the MRes degrees and £1,000 Awards for overseas students for the MSc and MRes degrees. In order to be eligible for one of these awards all you need to do is apply - the awards will be allocated based on quality but applying early increases your chances of getting one of these awards. find out more here

Doctoral Training Accounts

Doctoral Training Accounts (DTA's) are funds provided directly to universities by the Engineering and Physical Science Research Council (EPSRC) to fund PhD studentships.  find out more here

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships Scheme

The Shared Scholarship Scheme is a joint initiative between the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and UK universities, to support scholarships for students from developing Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study in the United Kingdom.

ICE QUEST Continuing Education Award

You may apply for this award if you have had at least two years’ industrial experience and have been a member of ICE for at least two years. This award is designed to encourage those who would not otherwise be able to participate in their chosen course. However, this award is not designed to fund courses that will be used as Further Learning for membership of the ICE. Continuing Education Awards are made to members seeking to return to full or part-time education in management or technical subjects. Support is limited to 12 months for a full-time course and can include short training courses. PhD fees will not be funded. An applicant can only have a total of three ICE QUEST awards of any type, with a lapse of at least a year between each.

Marshall Scholarships

Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom.

Up to forty Scholars are selected each year to study at graduate level at an UK institution in any field of study. Each scholarship is held for two years. For more information visit website.
