The Centre for Lifelong Learning has in place a system of Certification which provides a quality assurance process for non-accredited CPD provision by other University departments and units specialising in Continuing Professional Development. CPD course proposals are submitted to the Centre for Lifelong Learning, which contain details of course content, delivery mode, method of assessment, tutor profile and any other salient features. If the Centre is satisfied with the proposal it will issue a Certificate to successful students as confirmed by the course provider. The course is then subject to review every 2 years, or earlier if a significant change has taken place in the interim period.
The Certificate issued can be one of two different types:
A Certificate of Performance is awarded for short courses of approximately 20 hours duration.
A Certificate of Professional Development is awarded for courses of more than 20 hours tuition and recognised by a professional institution for CPD purposes.
