This website and a DVD entitled “Counselling pupils with additional support needs” were launched on October 23rd 2008 at an event at the Radisson Hotel in central Glasgow. Andrew Hamnett, the Principal of Strathclyde University opened the event and welcomed people to Glasgow and highlighted the importance of the work of this Counselling Unit project to a University of “useful learning”. Barbara Rayment, Director of Youth Access spoke at the event, setting this Scottish initiative in a wider UK political, economic and research context. Delegates saw examples of the material contained in the website and also watched a segment of the DVD.
The event was attended by over 70 delegates who were encouraged to access the website as a source of information and advice.
