- We will put your details onto a Database so that we can decide what help you need. This will also enable us to assess your prior learning. We will only do this with your permission.
- We offer specialised guidance and support for job search, professional re-qualification and entry/re-entry into Higher Education.
- Material and financial support to clients shall depend on the availability of funds, the general financial circumstances of the client and the relevance of such an engagement to the professional development of the client with respect to teaching. However, decisions shall be considered on a case by case basis and clients are advised to discuss their individual circumstances with the coordinator. Our Financial Support Policy is available here. - We will offer advice on registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
- We will help you to obtain voluntary placements in Scottish Schools.
- We will offer advice on the Education system in Scotland including curriculum, methodology, resources and classroom management.
- We will offer a Teacher Education Course prior to your employment.
- We offer access to the University of Strathclyde, Faculty of Education Library at Jordanhill Campus.
- We offer access to the Curriculum Centre in the Department of Childhood and Primary Studies at Jordanhill Campus.
- We will help where we can with English Language Courses and assist you to find the appropriate course.
- We will support you with job applications, interview skills and access to courses to top up your qualificaions, where necessary.
- We will be available within normal office hours to answer any questions you may have about teaching in Scotland.
- We will continue to develop our services so that we can address your needs as effectively as possible.
- We will work to ensure that positive images of refugees and asylum seekers are portrayed in the media.
- We will monitor our services and ask your opinion of the support that we have provided so that we can improve what we do.
- We will use the information from the Database to ensure that you are given all the opportunities that we can provide to get you into employment.
- We will use the information from our Database for a research project to inform the Scottish Government, the Education Service in Scotland and the Academic Community of the skills and experiences that our teachers bring to Scotland.
- We will keep all information that you give us, safely and securely and will not pass it to anyone or any organisation without your permission.
