Welcome to the Crawfurd Complex - one of the most innovative and inspirational sites for teaching, learning, meetings and performance in Scotland. The complex is situtated among the beautiful parkland of the Jordanhill Campus in the west end of the city. The complex re-opened in September 2002 after extensive refurbishment of the original Crawfurd Theatre and boasts a state of the art auditorium.
This contemporary space has been designed to facilitate dynamic teaching and be an inspirational arts facility. Its flexible seating arrangements, state of the art ICT installation, multiple screens and high quality furnishings present excellent opportunity for creative and innovative teaching and performance.
The vision behind this project was to create a vibrant and inspirational, cultural and educational environment for staff, students, and the community. The flexible nature of the space, auditorium and breakout rooms make this an ideal small conference venue. The breakout rooms can be used as a spill over from the auditorium due to the visual and sound links to the auditorium. Each of the breakout rooms has internet access and audio and visual facilities allowing these rooms to be self-contained teaching and learning environments.
The auditorium is also well equipped for theatrical events and can accommodate a wide variety of different events from dance to drama. With the recently installed rear and wing curtains, the space is flexible and can adapt to a wide variety of events. A full theatrical light and sound system has been recently upgraded to ensure the best theatre experience possible. The changing facilities, located just off the auditorium provide washroom facilities and enough space for cast to change and wait for their call in comfortable and relaxing surroundings.
