Menorah

Menorah is the Hebrew term for candelabrum, a large branched candle holder. The menorah is the Jewish seven branched candlestick which, as the symbol of spiritual light, has been described as the most ancient and powerful of Jewish symbols.

According to the Jewish scriptures, the design for the menorah was a gift given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. The menorah featured in the tabernacle in the wilderness and in the Temple in Jerusalem. It became the most popular symbol of the world-wide Jewish community and the official symbol of the State of Israel.
