ECONOMICS AT STRATHCLYDE

Each day many decisions are taken affecting the economy.  Consumers decide how much to spend and what to purchase.  Businesses decide which goods and services to produce and how best to supply them.  The financial sector provides banking, insurance and other services.  Government takes decisions affecting interest rates, inflation, spending and unemployment.  Economics aims to understand the activities of these different groups and how they fit together.

Economics is a major subject in the Business School and in the BA in Arts & Social Sciences, and also in the BSc degrees in Technology & Business Studies, Mathematics with Economics, and the BA in International Business & Modern Languages.
