The SIRE Forum for Young Researchers (SFYR) aims to foster the diffusion of the research undertaken by young researchers belonging to the Scottish Institute for Research in Economics (SIRE). The Forum was launched with great success by the School of Economics & Finance at the University of St Andrews in the spring 2007 and was hosted this year by the Department of Economics at the University of Stirling.

The Department of Economics at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, will be holding the next two SIRE FYR during the spring semester 2009.

These events will take place on Wednesday 11 February and Wednesday 13th May 2009. Each meeting will consist in a half-a-day event with two presentations given by junior researchers from Scottish universities and one presentation by an internationally recognised senior researcher. The topics will cover the entire range of SIRE research themes and the timetable will allow for strong formal and informal interactions between participants. Participation in the event is open to all academics that are interested, including senior researchers.

The forum is jointly sponsored by SIRE and the Department of Economics at the University of Strathclyde. Kirsty Fontanella, Giuseppe De Feo and Rodolphe Desbordes will make the practical arrangements.

You will find regularly updated information on the events on the Events page, the link on the right hand side of this page.

You must register for each event.  To do so please go to the Registration page, the link on the right hand side of this page.  Please register for the second event before Friday 1st May.

See you at Strathclyde!
