Biographical information

Grant is a Research Fellow in the Fraser of Allander Institute, Department of Economics. A graduate of the University of Strathclyde and Edinburgh University, he joined the Institute in 2002. Since 2004, he was worked on a number of ESRC, EPSRC and private-funded research projects using multi-sectoral models to examine the impact of energy technologies.  His recent experience is in modelling the impact of biofuels production from marine algae, as part of the EU INTERREG IVA-funded, “Biomara – sustainable fuels from marine biomass” consortium, where he is involved in the preparation and use of economic models for the (typically, small peripheral) regions which are the focus of the project. He also contributes the to the Fraser Economic Commentary.
