Biographical Information
He is a graduate of Strathclyde and Simon Fraser Universities. He has held university posts in Canada, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan and Sweden and has worked extensively as an economic consultant, for United Nations agencies, the Colombian Agricultural Research Institute, and the Colombian National Planning Office. He has published books on Monetary Correction and Housing Finance in Latin America, (Gower, 1980); an intellectual biography (Duke University Press, 1990) of Lauchlin Currie, a leading development economist; and has edited the collected papers of Allyn Abbott Young (Routledge 1999). His many published papers deal with housing finance, monetary policy, agriculture, growth theory, and international trade. Dr Sandilands has also been Managing Editor of the Journal of Economic Studies.
