Electronic and electrical engineers’ impact on our daily lives is widespread. They create and operate the world’s power systems, its telecommunications networks and computing infrastructure, and design electronic systems essential in the home, entertainment, commerce and industry. Creating the technology and systems of the future requires vision, technical expertise and business acumen. Our undergraduate degrees are designed to equip students with all of these attributes, to progress to well paid, rewarding careers.

Listed below are the courses on offer. We offer 4 year BEng (Honours) and 5 year MEng degrees.

All are professionally accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the British Computer Society (BCS).

Our Industry supported Scholarship and Work Placement Programme provides annual bursaries, paid summer internships and overseas study opportunities to students on any of the courses listed. Strong links with companies worldwide ensure our courses’ industrial applicability, allow us to equip our teaching labs with the latest technology, and provide students with direct contact to major employers during their studies.  Why come to Strathclyde?

The Department has exchange programmes with partner universities in Europe, SE Asia, America, Canada, Australia & New Zealand and actively encourages its students to go abroad. There are no additional tuition fees involved - students are only required to provide their own living expenses.  The Department and the University’s International & Graduate Office have exchange coordinators to assist you with all your needs.  Our students who have studied abroad have found the experience rewarding in terms of their personal development, making new friends and establishing their future career direction.
