A large proportion of transducer testing is carried out underwater. CUE has a range of test tanks for this, the largest being a 4 m x 6 m x 2 m deep tank for transducers operating at frequencies down to 30 kHz. This facility has both computer controlled linear and rotational scanning capabilities for sonar transducer characterisation and is available for hire to external companies.
