Rolls-Royce UTC

The Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) in Electrical Power Systems was established in 1997 at the University of Strathclyde and is responsible for the research and development of effective electrical power system solutions.

The networks being studied are in the domains of marine, aero, and energy applications, for which common challenges have been identified. Network design and optimisation, electrical system operation and management, power system protection and control, as well as the associated modelling and simulation, represent the main focus of this research effort.

The UTC has also conducted research in condition data interpretation methods and optical sensors for aero-engine monitoring.
