IET Power Academy

main content

The IET Power Academy aims to deliver world class professionals to the power industries of tomorrow, and seven leading UK universities and a number of major companies were brought together to achieve this aim.

EEE @ Strathclyde is one of the founding University members and the only engineering department in Scotland to be included in the Academy.

The awards are open to high calibre students on any of the department’s undergraduate programmes.  We are the most successful member of the power academy.  So far, 129 of our students have benefited from scholarships and enjoyed summer placements with member companies including ABB, Atkins Power,  Culham Centre for Fusion Energy (CCFE), EA Technology, National Grid, Northern Ireland Electricity, Northern Powergrid, RWE npower, Scottish Power, Rolls-Royce, Siemens, SSE, UK Power Networks and Western Power Distribution.
