Design, Manufacture & Engineering Management Working with business & organisations

We can help your business improve performance

Our academics and researchers conduct international leading research in the areas of engineering design, advanced manufacturing technologies, and operational business excellence.

The real-world nature of our research and our breadth of expertise helps us to work with a wide range of organisations.

Work with us and we can help your business perform better.

There are a number of ways that we can work with you, from short and sharp interventions like continuous professional development, to long-term collaborations like Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs).

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

We have a long track record of success with the KTP initiative and its predecessor programmes. Our projects are highly rated and a number have won awards. Our staff members are very active in this area, helping to contribute to University of Strathclyde’s top 5 status in the UK for KTPs.

Continuing Professional Development

We offer a range of executive awareness and practitioner courses across areas of Design, Manufacture & Engineering Management. We also offer tailored programmes to suit your business needs.

Consultancy

When you need expert advice or some other short term intervention in the areas covered by our research and teaching, we can provide this on a consultancy basis.

We provide consultancy and expert advice across our research areas. You can also contact us directly to discuss your requirements.

Company-suggested student projects

Industrial engagement is a central part of our teaching practice. Every year we involve our fourth and fifth year undergraduates, and our postgraduate taught masters students in industrial projects.

These can be an ideal mechanism for you to gain an appreciation of what the department can do for you, and perhaps whet your appetite for a more focussed involvement. Our students also undertake individual projects that they develop themselves - potentially with companies, and we encourage our students to take summer internships relevant to their degree through our Summer placement scheme.

Our projects include:
