Placing Industry First
One of the strengths of Engineering at Strathclyde, is our links with industry. Not only does this provide a firm platform for our graduates to develop their careers, we work closely with industrial colleagues on a range of Knowledge Exchange (KE) activities including:
Consultancy, Continuing Professional Development, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Spin Out companies and Commercialisation
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) has invested £2.6 million in University KE activity.
This substantial investment - one of only 12 Knowledge Transfer Accounts (KTAs) awarded by the EPSRC in the UK and one of only two in Scotland - will be used to accelerate and enhance Strathclyde's strong links with industry through a range of activities, including partnership research programmes, two-way secondments, studentships, opportunities to license pioneering technologies and the creation of new start-up businesses.
Did you know?
Strathclyde Engineering has collaborated in 250 Knowledge Transfer Partnerships – the highest in Scotland.
We have also been awarded 19 Scottish Enterprise Proof of Concept Projects, which support the pre-commercialisation of leading-edge technologies.
