University of Strathclyde Named University of the Year
The University of Strathclyde has been named the UK’s University of the Year in the 2012 Times Higher Education Awards.
Praised for its close links with business and industry and its commitment to making an impact on the global economy, Strathclyde was chosen ahead of five other shortlisted institutions to take one of the highest accolades in higher education.
Honorary Degree for Superstar Sprinter Pistorius
Olympic and Paralympic athlete Oscar Pistorius was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Strathclyde at a Faculty of Engineering graduation ceremony on Monday 12 November at the Barony Hall in Glasgow.
Student Success at British Interplanetary Society for Third Year in a Row
Three of the six finalists in a prestigious UK competition run by the British Interplanetary Society (BIS) were from the University of Strathclyde this year. And for the third year in a row, the postgraduate competition was won by a PhD student of the Advanced Space Concepts Laboratory.
