Postgraduate Research Scholarships

main content

As the largest engineering Faculty in Scotland, we are renowned internationally for research and strong links with industry. We have a rich international community with over 1000 postgraduate and research students from almost 100 countries.

The Faculty has a long history of innovation and is home to some of the most practical research taking place in the UK – from heart valves, to water and flood management to renewable technologies.

We are internationally recognised for our research and strong links with industry as evidenced by a growing research portfolio of over £85 million. Our research has a global impact, making a positive difference to the world we live in and helping to solve some of the major problems that face society today.

Strathclyde was founded as a ‘place of useful learning’ and our status was confirmed when we were named University of the Year in the prestigious Times Higher Education Awards for 2012. The judges in the awards described us as a “bold, imaginative and innovative institution” for the quality and impact of our research, as well as our close links with business and industry.
