Introduction

The Project Management Team, acting under the authority of the Head of Technical Services, has the responsibility for the implementation of the Capital Building Programme from inception to completion and for provision of liaison between client departments and project construction teams. The remit of work includes the following items:

  • Estates Strategy Implementation Plan
  • feasibility studies
  • option appraisals
  • formulation of the Capital Building Programme

The Project Managers responsibilities extend to consideration and protection of the wider interests of the University with particular regards to compliance with statutory legislation.

The Project Management staff work in close conjunction with the Property and Space Management team in exchanging up-to-date information on project related matters as well as liaising with other Estates Services disciplines as required. Additional project management work is carried out by other members of staff within Estates Services, based upon a requirement for specific expertise in issues such as mechanical engineering, heating, ventilation and electrical engineering.
