The 11th edition of the International Conference on Evolutionary and Deterministic Methods for Design, Optimization and Control with Applications to Industrial and Societal Problems, EUROGEN-2015, was held in Glasgow (UK), 14-16 September, 2015.
The conference included six invited keynote lectures, six mini-symposia on a variety of topics, three regular sessions and an exhibition area featuring ESTECO, Italy, Optimad Engineering, Italy, and Noesis Solutions, Belgium to showcase their commercial optimisation software.
The conference, which was held in the University’s flagship Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC), attracted nearly 100 delegates, with almost 40% of the attendees being postgraduate students. The majority of attendees travelled to Glasgow from European countries, as well as many attending from further afield such as Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, China, Brazil, and India.
All delegates were highly impressed by the TIC facilities and its management, as well as the University’s Barony Hall where the gala dinner was hosted. They also enjoyed the welcome drink reception in the Glasgow City Chambers which was kindly offered by Glasgow City Council.
