What is the CIPD?

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) is the professional body for those involved in the management and development of people.

CIPD Mission Statement

  • to lead in the development and promotion of good practice in the field of the management and development of people, for application both by professional members and by their organisational colleagues
  • to serve the professional interests of members
  • to uphold the highest ideals in the management and development of people

Quoted from CIPD publication

CIPD accreditation of our programmes is recognition that they meet rigorous professional, as well as academic standards. It is confirmation to potential employers that our students not only have a high degree of knowledge and understanding of Human Resource Management but similar competencies in the core skills required to deal effectively with HR policies and practices in organisations.

Courses

The Department offers a number of courses that meet the knowledge criteria for both Associate and Professional levels of membership. For more information on courses available click here.

CIPD Membership Fees

For those who wish to gain membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development at the end of your course, the CIPD requires that you become a student member of CIPD during your studies. Students are responsible for the payment of CIPD membership fees direct to CIPD.

Fees charged by CIPD to new students who are not already members consist of a one off Admission Fee and a Membership Subscription Fee. For more information on Membership Fees, visit the CIPD website. Full details about joining CIPD are provided to students at the start of each course.
