Visiting Scholars

We welcome interest from visiting scholars who wish to spend some time in the Department of Human Resource Management. Any potential visiting scholars should review the research interests of Faculty in the Department and consider how their own research interests fit with existing staff members. The main aim in facilitating visiting scholars is to enhance research synergies and publication opportunities.

The Department will ordinarily endeavour to offer support for visiting scholars with regard to aspects such as accommodation and/or travel costs. Once in the Department, visiting scholars will usually be provided with facilities such as computer and e-mail access, along with access to a phone, photocopier, fax and other items appropriate for undertaking the role of a visiting scholar.

We aim to ensure that all academic visitors are fully integrated into the Department. Specifically, they will be expected to significantly contribute to the extant research culture in the Department. This would normally include the following activities:

Deliver one or two research seminar papers.Host a workshop around a current area of research, research funding or management.Lead a PhD workshop or 'masterclass'.Be involved in the delivery of a small number of undergraduate and postgraduate classes.
