Business and enterprise are at the heart of national growth and development. Business Education subjects in the school curriculum offer opportunities for pupils to develop knowledge and skills which will enable them to access understand and contribute to the dynamic and complex business environment.
There are 3 Business Education subjects, Accounting and Finance, Administration and Business Management. Each contributes to pupils' understanding from a particular perspective and the Business Education curriculum in schools is subject to constant change and revision to take account not only of the dynamic nature of the business environment, but also the needs of pupils as they enter post-school society.
Students will gain a knowledge and understanding of the place of Business Education in the school curriculum and the ways in which the subject can contribute to the whole school curriculum.
The course is designed to develop in the students an ability to employ a variety of learning and teaching approaches as well as providing experience in the use of assessment as part of the learning process.
The key outcome will be the ability of students to deliver effective classroom lessons in Business Education and to reflect upon their strengths and weaknesses as they proceed.
