Postgraduate Research Support Fund
October 2012 onwards
The RSF fund has been established to provide financial support for postgraduate students in the HaSS Faculty who wish to attend a conference in relation to their area of research. Applications will only be considered from postgraduate research students who are fully registered, and not in receipt of other sources of funding such as scholarship awards etc. Support is not an unconditional entitlement but is awarded on the basis of research development needs.
The conference must be recognised as a national or internal leader in the field of research and applicants would be expected to demonstrate how attendance at the conference will contribute to their research and/or their development as a researcher. Applications must be supported by the applicants’ supervisor and are subject to approval by the RSF Panel.
All awards will be decided on the basis of the information provided, the merits of the case made by the applicant and the appropriate demonstration of support for the application. Applications will not be considered unless they are submitted on the standard form and in advance of the intended date of travel. Retrospective applications or applications that are submitted after final funding deadlines will not be considered.
More than one award may be approved to a student in any one academic year.

All eligible students may apply for postgraduate research support. Support is not an unconditional entitlement, however, but is awarded on the basis of research / researcher development needs.
