Schools' strong performance in UK university rankings
Several of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences' (HaSS) schools and subject areas have made significant jumps in the Complete University Guide 2016 rankings.
The Complete University Guide ranks UK universities in 10 quality factors - important to students - by university and by subject.
Some of the progress made by HaSS schools and subject areas from the 2015 to 2016 rankings is outlined below.
History has jumped up 13 places, from 40th to 27th, with higher satisfaction scores than Edinburgh, Bristol, Nottingham and UCL, and the same as Oxford.
There has been a move of 18 places, from 38th to 20th. Of the Scottish universities, only Glasgow and St Andrews are ranked higher.
Politics has moved up 17 places, from 46th to 29th. The results demonstrate the high quality of research that is undertaken, putting Strathclyde in second place in Scotland.
There has been a jump of 20 places, from 31st to 11th, for this area. Only Glasgow and Edinburgh are ranked higher in Scotland.
Having moved up from 11th to 7th place, Education is firmly placed in the UK top 10.
Social Work has moved up 11 places, from 17th to 6th. Strathclyde is one of only two universities in Scotland to score in the top ten for student satisfaction.
