What qualifications do I need?
The following information should be used as a guide only.  Admission is always at the discretion of the relevant department.

Undergraduate Study
Ontario: 70% or above in 6 Grade 12 U or M courses

Alberta: A minimum of 75% in 5 acceptable Grade 12 subjects

British Colombia: A minimum of 5 B Grades in Grade 12 subjects

Postgraduate Study
For PG study we would look for a minimum of 70%, a strong B grade or a GPA of minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 from a recognised institution.

If you wish to apply for a research degree you would normally have to have a Master's degree and some experience of research work.

Financial Information

Canada Student Loans
Students can utilize the Federal and Provincial Canada Student Loans program to fund their studies at the University of Strathclyde. For information and applications: www.canlearn.ca. In Quebec: www.afe.gouv.qc.ca.

Canadian Banks
The majority of Canadian banks offer student loans. Criteria for the loans are specific to each bank’s loan program. Inquire directly with a local branch for information.

Registered Education Savings Plans (RESPs)
A Registered Education Savings Plan (RESPs) is a savings plan that is designed to grow until it is needed for financing post-secondary education. Information about RESPs and other federal education grants can be found at Revenue Canada, www.ccra.gc.ca.
