The Points Based Immigration System

The points based system and what it means for the University and its international (non EEA) students

The UK government is in the process of replacing its current system of immigration with a 5 tier system which has mandatory points criteria for each of its 5 tiers.

The information which follows is based on details of the points based system published by UKBA (United Kingdom Border Agency). It is almost certain that this information will be updated as the points based system rolls out over the next year or so, so you should visit this page at regular intervals to check for amendments or changes.

You can use the Points Based Calculator to check which schemes you are eligible to apply for on: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk

or by clicking on the link to the PBS calculator
