I was a Sales and Operations Manager before joining the MBA programme. I wanted to put my ten years work experience into some sort of context – why had some of my projects succeeded and others had not? I also thought the chance to build an academic framework around my experiences would help me change sector.

I looked at a few other business schools in addition to Strathclyde. Strathclyde had an excellent reputation, particularly for strategy, and that, plus its approach of mixing academia with practical commercial applications, suited my objectives better than the alternatives.

Any expectations I had before the course started have all been satisfied, but I’ve also learned more about business practices and philosophies from other cultures than I expected.

The MBA has provided me with specific knowledge on core business studies, such as Operations Management, Marketing, and Finance amongst others, which build on top of one another to give a multi-perspective view on challenges facing business today. It has also helped me put perspective on my own experiences in the workplace.

I have found the staff to be excellent – very supportive – and the student body is highly diverse. Colleagues on the MBA are themselves an excellent source of learning as most have eight to ten years of industry experience across a wide variety of sectors.
