At the annual Group Decision and Negotiation conference in Coimbra, Portugal the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) of the USA has conferred on Colin Eden the GDN section annual award.
The award is made annually to an outstanding scholar in the field. The citation reads that the award is: "to honor his outstanding contributions to the theory and practice of Group Decision and Negotiation, by integrating OR methods and behavioural research, his theoretical works published numerous articles and books have shaped the entire field"
