Kevin Gallimore is a Senior Lecturer and Subject Leader in Strategic Management in the Cheshire faculty of the Manchester Metropolitan University. Since joining the university sector some eight years ago he has taught Strategic Management at Staffordshire University, Manchester Business School and Manchester Metropolitan University. Prior to entering academia he worked for over twenty years in the chemicals and coatings industry, holding a variety of positions in technical, operations, sales and quality management. Kevin is currently an External Examiner for the strategy subject area at Derbyshire Business School. With a first degree in chemistry he also holds a DMS, MBA and PGCE.

Kevin is presently a PhD candidate at Strathclyde Graduate School of Business under the supervision of Professor Colin Eden and Professor Fran Ackermann. His PhD research topic is The Dynamics of Strategic Thinking and aims to provide insight into what constitutes strategic thinking, the factors affect strategic thinking and its development, and the relationship between strategic thinking and action. The proposed methodology for this research is engagement with senior managers to understand how strategic thinking occurs and is utilised in everyday settings. Previous research has focussed on the strategic impact of quality.
