Operations Management

The Strathclyde Institute of Operations Management (SIOM) includes academics from SBS and Engineering. Performance measurement and management is an overarching theme linking the research of Umit Bititci, Jill MacBryde, Kepa Mendibil, Jiju Antony, Robert van der Meer and Mik Wisniewski. Since 2001, this research group has generated more than £3M in research income and published over 35 papers in peer-reviewed journals, such as International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Production Planning and Control, International Journal of Management Review and the Journal of the Operational Research Society.  The Institute of Electrical Engineers JD Scafie Prize has been won by members of the group twice in recent years ( Jiju Antony 2003 and Umit Bititci 2004) while the Hungarian Janos Bolyai Research Fellowship  was won by Tibor Illes (2000-03).
