Dr Juliette Wilson is a Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow and has been Acting Director of the Undergraduate Programme since January 2012. Prior to this she was Deputy Director of the Postgraduate Programme. She has received degrees from the University of Aberdeen and the University of Strathclyde. She worked for a number of years as a research fellow in the department, most notably conducting research in the food industry where she worked extensively with large and small companies, both nationally and internationally, examining issues related to relative competitiveness in the industry.
Her present research interests include strategic alliances, supply chains and networks, and small businesses. She has extended her interest in strategic alliances and networks to explore various processual issues, such as firm and alliance growth and development. She is also involved in inter-disciplinary research on nostalgia and is currently co-investigator of an ESRC-funded seminar series on nostalgia with colleagues from Marketing and Humanities Arts and Social Sciences as well as the recipient of grants from the ESRC Festival of Social Sciences in 2011 and 2010 to run nostalgia-related events.
Juliette is a member of the editorial board for Industrial Marketing Management and reviewer for the European Journal of Marketing and Marketing Intelligence and Planning. In addition to her academic work Juliette is a member of the Marketing Society, the British Higher Education Academy and is involved with Dumbartonshire Young Enterprise.
She has published in journals such as the Journal of Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Journal of Marketing Channels, International Review of Retail Distribution and Consumer Research, International Journal of Retail and Distribution Management, and the British Food Journal. She is also co-Guest Editor of a forthcoming Special Issue of Consumption, Markets and Culture on Nostalgia in the 21st Century.
