Welcome to the Strathclyde Music's season of performances in venues around Glasgow's City Centre and further afield.
We are especially excited to be showcasing the Maurice Taylor Organ, the University's new Baroque pipe organ in the Barony Hall, in a number of events. Handcrafted by the Austrian firm Orgelbau Koegler and completed in March 2010, the instrument comprises mechanical key and stop action, and has three manuals and pedals and forty-one speaking stops. As the first Bach-style organ ever to be commissioned in the UK, the instrument provides an invaluable opportunity for audiences and students alike to experience the music of
J S Bach - and others - as authentically as possible.
