A Team Building weekend was organised by the Department for third year Undergraduate students at Benmore Outdoor Centre, in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.  Both current and new students, joining directly into third year, took part in the activity filled weekend.

Just fewer than 60 students arrived on the Friday evening where after being split into 6 teams of 10 and moving into the dorm rooms; a night walk was undertaken by all 6 groups. This involved each team following a rope over various obstacles in the woodland in almost pitch black conditions. A very muddy mass of students then returned to the Centre!

The next morning each group met and headed off to various activities ranging from Kayaking to Rock Climbing to Gorge Walking. After a bowl of soup for lunch the groups split again for more activities such as canoeing, mountain biking and a ropes course. After dinner, each group were faced with a few team building challenges such as building structures out of spaghetti and such like activities.

The following day all groups participated in the activities not covered in the first day despite the heavy rain. After a bowl of soup to warm up, everyone headed out for one last activity before ending up back at the centre for fish and chips! Back on the bus a very tired third year headed back to Glasgow arriving back at the Department for 7pm.

Whilst it was impossible for everyone to get to know each other, within the groups there were definite friendships made. All in all, a fantastic weekend away for NA-ME 3rd Year students!
