Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS)
EIS is Scotland's largest teaching union and has a firm commitment to quality education provision for all young people. In the wider world, the EIS plays an active and prominent part in the major teacher international organisation, Education International.
HM Inspectorate of Education (HMIe)
HMIe provides a rigorous evaluation of the Scottish education system through inspection programmes and publications, which contribute to improvement and leads to independent advice on educational policy being available to Scottish Ministers and the education system.
Learning and Teaching Scotland
LT Scotland is an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by the Scottish Executive Education Department to help review, assess and support developments in learning and education, including the use of information and communications technology (ICT). The Learning and Teaching Scotland online service provides access to a wide range of information and resources for education in Scotland. The online service consists of a number of key websites which provide support, information and resources for all areas of the curriculum and national educational developments.
National Register of CPD Providers
The National Register website is supported by the Scottish Executive and the General Teaching Council for Scotland and to provide relevant CPD information and opportunities developed by specialised providers.
The General Teaching Council for Scotland
The General Teaching Council for Scotland is a statutory organisation and is the regulatory body for the teaching profession in Scotland. Its functions including registering of teachers, reviewing the standards of education and making recommendations to Scottish Ministers on the supply of teachers.
Executive Online is the official website of The Scottish Executive, the devolved government for Scotland. It is responsible for most of the issues of day-to-day concern to the people of Scotland, including health, education, justice, rural affairs, and transport.
